EASTON — Paul Hagood has been named interim chief revenue officer for APG Media of Chesapeake, which publishes The Star Democrat and the Times-Record.
“We are extremely excited to have Paul lead our print and digital media sales teams as interim chief revenue officer,” Jim Normandin, president of APG Media of Chesapeake, said. “Paul’s skill sets and experience align keenly with our unique suite of quality advertising marketing solutions and service offerings.”
Hagood has been development manager for NXC Media, a subsidiary of APG Media of Chesapeake, for two years. He began working at The Star Democrat in September 2015 as a project coordinator, which included work on the Brighter Christmas Fund.
Hagood has a bachelor’s degree in international business from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland College Park and a Chinese language certification from the Beijing Language and Culture University.
He is a member of the board of directors for the Brighter Christmas Fund, graduated from Shore Leadership with the Class of 2017, and is a member of Families With Children From China — Capital Area.
Hagood and his wife Jessica, a first-grade teacher at Easton Elementary School, live in Easton.
The chief revenue officer position had been held by David Fike, who also was publisher of The Star Democrat and several affiliated weekly newspapers.
As president, Normandin will become publisher of those newspapers.
“We want to thank David for his hard work and dedication to this company and this community for more than a quarter century,” Normandin said.
Fike, an Easton native, began his career with Chesapeake Publishing in sales at The Bay Times and had worked for the company — owned since 2014 by Adams Publishing Group — for 26 years. He serves as a board member of Shore Bancshares, Shore United Bank, and Waterfowl Chesapeake, and is an active member of Easton Rotary and various other committees and youth sports organizations.
