DENTON — At their Jan. 7, 2020 meeting, the Caroline County Board of Education will be considering possible calendars for the 2020-2021 school year. There are four draft versions of the calendar. Three with a pre Labor Day Start and one with students reporting Sept. 8.

With the Sept. 8 start, the last day for students would be Jun. 24. Other calendars have the last day on June 14, 15 and 18. Of the four options, two calendars have winter break Dec. 21 to Jan. 4 — on the other two break would begin with a half day Dec. 23 through Jan. 3.

On all calendar versions, Thanksgiving break is slated for Nov. 25-27 and school is closed for Martin Luther King Day and President’s Day. There are minor changes on each, losing or gaining a day for spring break, the first week of April.

The calendars are available to view on online, along with a form to share your preferences.

The Board will take this feedback into consideration when making their final decision.
