Board Elects New Officers
In the annual Board reorganization, Kathy Dill was elected president, and Tolbert Rowe was elected vice-president. William McAllister was again elected board attorney.
The Board approved textbooks to be used in the Homeland Security program of study at Caroline Career & Technology Center. Principal Gene Smith presented the textbooks and answered questions about their use in various courses in the program.
2020-2025 Strategic Plan Approved
Throughout 2019, the Strategic Planning Committee engaged in a process designed to provide direction for the school system through 2025. The Committee gathered information from internal feedback and data, key stakeholder interviews, community-based focus groups, and an online survey. These resources were used to create a new mission, vision, core values, and a portrait of a Caroline County graduate. The Committee followed with the development of the Strategic Plan goals and objectives that provide a roadmap to the future. The Board approved the Strategic Plan, which will be shared with staff, families, and the public throughout the coming year.
The next Board Meeting will be held on Jan. 7 at 5 p.m. for the purpose of considering convening an Executive Session prior to the regular meeting at 6 p.m. The board meets at204 Franklin Street, Denton.
