For He looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. (Heb. 11:10)
The word of God tells us Jesus has prepared a place for us, and he is coming back to receive his own, those who have accepted him as their personal savior and lord. We must occupy until he comes. Every day being a day of preparation and readiness, for no man knows the day nor the hour he – Jesus – shall appear.
We as a nation and people are truly blessed. God has been faithful to provide for our every need. Do we have difficulties? Do we have struggles? Yes, we do, but God… do we realize how much Jesus loves us, the price he paid with his own precious blood to redeem us from a world of sin, knowing that one day we must stand before him to give an account of all that we’ve done?
Knowing this, how have we prepared ourselves? Matt. 6:31 tells us to seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Food, clothing, shelter, our needs will be met.
Romans 12:1 & 2 tells us because of God’s mercies we are to present our bodies, ourselves to him, and not the world, to be transformed, having our minds renewed daily through the word of God, through prayer and worship, in his presence. We spend a lifetime working on the physical man, the physical building, but often neglect the spiritual man — the spiritual building.
When the physical man is hungry, we eat; thirsty, we drink; sick, we take medication; we exercise and even have surgery to preserve the robe of flesh.
But I must lovingly remind you that one day this earthly tent is going to be no more, should Jesus continue to tarry, we’re going to die. That’s why we must prepare now and make ready the spiritual man, the spiritual building for Jesus’ return. I encourage you to ask – seek – knock and you will find. Work on the spiritual building and find rest unto your soul.
