EASTON — Elizabeth “Betty” Lee Brunkhorst, 88, died on July 16, 2018 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.

She was born on Sept. 25, 1929 in Denton, MD, the daughter of the late Wallace and Della Cleaves Hopkins.

Betty married Richard A. Brunkhorst and they made their home in Federalsburg, then Preston, and finally moving to Easton in 1966.

She previously worked for a time as a waitress at Townsend’s Restaurant in Denton before starting a family. She was a loving wife and mother. Betty was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Easton. She loved flea markets and enjoyed buying and collecting antiques. She also enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard A. Brunkhorst; a son, Paul Brunkhorst and his partner Kristine O’Donnell, of Stevensville, MD; and a daughter, Theresa Johnson and her husband David, of Holly Ridge, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 20, 11 a.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton, where friends and family may call one hour prior from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be at the MD Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
