FEDERALSBURG — The Federalsburg Police Department responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Buena Vista Ave. and Academy Avenue at approximately 9:45 a.m. on June 17. According to police, the impact from the crash caused the vehicle traveling on Academy Avenue to overturn, entrapping the driver for a period of time.

The entrapped driver was identified as Darryl Harman, 55, of Cambridge. Harman was operating a Ford truck on Academy Avenue when he was struck by a Ford Fusion being operated by Melvin Williams, 38, of Federalsburg.

An investigation revealed that Williams failed to stop before entering the intersection while traveling at an excessive speed and struck the truck being operated by Harman. A third unoccupied vehicle parked in the yard of 310 Academy Avenue was also struck by the vehicles involved in the collision.

Responding to the accident were units from the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company and Caroline County EMS. The two drivers were treated at the scene by paramedics along with a juvenile passenger from Harman’s vehicle. Harman was charged with multiple motor vehicle violations.
