DENTON — At its annual Cooperators Picnic at the 4-H park in Denton, the Caroline Soil Conservation District Board of Supervisors awarded $1,000 scholarships to two recent Caroline County high school graduates who plan to continue their education in the field of agriculture.

This year’s recipients were Cameron McMahan, recently graduated from Colonel Richardson High School, and Elizabeth Ross, recently graduated from North Caroline High School.

The awards were presented by Carol Middleton, Maryland Department of Agriculture planner for Caroline County.

The Caroline Soil Conservation District has been providing technical assistance and cost share for agricultural best management practices in Caroline County since 1941. They are governed by a local board of supervisors.
