Local collaborators create feature length Christmas musical extravaganza

MIDDLETOWN, DE — As the holiday season continues to Christmas and beyond, local creators, musicians, film-makers, and actors band together to make a holiday movie shot right here on the Delmarva Peninsula.

“What started as a bunch of riffing on Christmas movie tropes and a tradition in our band to release a Christmas themed music video every year has become a feature length film that pulls together local talent from across Delmarva. We couldn’t be more excited to premiere our film at Westown Movies on December 9th,” explains Aaron Maloney, frontman of the Mid Atlantic Cover Band ‘It’s All Good’. “This film represents countless hours donated by creatives across many industries and we’re so happy with how it turned out.”

The film was started as a single music video in December of 2018 and has been added to every holiday season since. The pandemic allowed for a mixing of fiction and fact and an expansion of the storyline into a much wider alternative world where fantasy and fun meet.

“As a video production studio right here in Galena, Andover Media was excited to participate in creating something fun for the sake of the creative process itself” said Justinian Dispenza, visual media director of Andover Media. “Through the process of making this film, we’ve shown that you don’t need big studio money or production budgets to make something original, hilarious, and surprisingly professional.”

The finished film will premiere at 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 at the Westown Movie Theatre in Middletown, Delaware. For those that can’t make the screening, the film will premiere online at the following day.

“It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you keep saying ‘yes’ and nobody’s worried about funding. We all drew from our careers and our ‘regular job experience’ to create a new spin on the classic ‘Santa told’ Christmas Story, and the result has been heartwarming, toe tapping, and totally ridiculous,” said Landon Maloney, Founder of Middletown based Shaking Hands Media. “We can’t wait to share this story with our Delmarva family, and the world!”
