QUEENSTOWN — Animal Welfare League of Queen Anne’s County Director Ramon Villatoro has announced fees are being waived for all adoptions at the shelter through Christmas in what he’s calling the “Home for the Howlidays Adoption Special.”
With Robert Cease of Prospect Bay and his bulldog Captain Higgins paying $100 toward each dog adoption, AWL is waiving the remainder of the fee for dogs and the whole fee for cats, Villatoro said.
Every adoption will also receive a free wellness blood work screening from Queenstown Veterinary Hospital and a gift certificate to Bev’s Grooming and Pets Supplies in Stevensville.
This is the second year Cease has sponsored the holiday dog adoptions at AWL. A retired police officer who now runs Safewatch Security Services, Cease said he is happy to be able to give back to the community.
He called the dogs innocent victims who are all looking for a forever home and love.
“There is no reason why we can’t make this Christmas wish come true and get every dog at the Queen Anne’s County animal shelter adopted,” he said, “So open up your heart and your home to a loving dog that just needs another chance to make you and your family very happy.”
AWL is also partnering with The Mill of Kingstown to offer holiday photos with your pet, Villatoro said.
Stop by The Mill of Kingstown, 7121 Church Hill Road, Chestertown, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, to have holiday photos taken.
For a $10 donation, the photographer will take five high quality photos of each participant, their family and/or their pets and send the photos to them via email. All proceeds benefit Animal Welfare League of Queen Anne’s County.
