CHESTER — The Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two burglaries that occurred less than an hour apart early Tuesday, July 17.
Deputies responded to an alarm at CVS Pharmacy, 115 South Piney Narrows Road, at 1:45 a.m. The front door had been force open, and it appeared the burglars tried to break into the automated teller machine inside the store, police said.
The surveillance video showed two black men, medium build, both around 6 ft. tall, entering the store, police said. Both wore black face masks and black gloves; one had a red stripe on his black pants.
They left in a white SUV, police said.
At 2:50 a.m., deputies responded to an alarm at Shore Stop, 100 Main St., Stevensville. The front door to Shore Stop also had been forced open and a cigarette rack inside the store showed signs of being disturbed, police said.
The store surveillance video showed the same two men from the CVS burglary force open the door and take an undisclosed amount of cigarettes, police said.
Police identified the getaway vehicle as a white Hyundai Santa Fe SUV
Anyone with any information about either burglary is asked to contacted Detective Steven Matthews at 410-758-0770, ext. 1282.
