Trash bin fire

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that damaged this metal trash bin at Bayside Condominiums the night of July 3.

CHESTER — The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a commercial trash bin fire that occurred July 3 at Bayside Condominiums, 101 Auckland Way.

The fire was discovered by a community resident at 10:50 p.m. The Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department responded and controlled the fire in about five minutes with three firefighters.

The metal trash bin is owned by Republic Services. The fire marshal’s office estimated damages at $800.
