Traffic stop leads to arrest

CHURCH HILL — A traffic stop in the area of Route 19 at Crane Swamp Road turned into multiple citations for 47-year-old Teresa Lynn Henard of Brooklyn, MD, on Tuesday, May 19.

The Queen Anne's County Sheriff's deputy reported he detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle when he approached to speak with the driver. Further investigation Henard was in possession of marijuana as well as a small amount of Suboxone, police said. Additionally, Henard’s driver’s license was suspended.

Citations were issued for the traffic violations. A civil citation was issued for the possession of marijuana. Henard was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a prescription.

A district court commissioner released Henard on her own recognizance.
