CHESTER — The Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the driver of a truck that ran into a parked car at Safeway, then left the scene.

Lanette Power-Waters of Grasonville told police she was in the store shopping around 7:40 p.m. Monday, June 15, while her daughter waited in the car in the Safeway parking lot, 1925 Main St., Chester. Her daughter said an African American man, driving a white, four-door pickup struck the car. He told he would park and get his identification and insurance information for her, but instead, he drove off.

The video footage from Safeway shows the truck, but the tag cannot be clearly made out other than having Maryland registration.

Anyone with information regarding this hit and run is asked to contact Deputy Dominic Sullivan at 410-758-0770.
