CENTREVILLE — A Centreville man faces burglary charges after allegedly being caught in the act Saturday morning, April 6.

Centreville Police responded to a report of suspicious activity at an unoccupied residence on Little Kidwell Avenue at 9:30 a.m. Officer Todd Svehla and Sgt. Charles Larrimore with K-9 Crush arrived to find a burglary in progress, police said.

They ordered the man to come out or they would send in K-9 Crush. After several warning announcements, the man, identified as Markel M. Thomas, 30, of Queen Anne Circle, exited the house and surrendered, police said.

Thomas was found in possession of stolen property from the house, police said.

He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary and theft under $100.

Thomas is being held at the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center without bond. A trial is scheduled for June 10 in Queen Anne’s County District Court.
