Molotov cocktail thrown at Chester Harbor home

CHESTERTOWN — Fire marshals are looking for anyone with information about who threw a molotov cocktail at a home near Chestertown in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 7.

According to a notice of investigation, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reported that the incendiary bottle was thrown at the Fairview Drive home of Clark and Patricia Bjorke in Chester Harbor. The incident was reported at about 1:30 a.m.

“Unknown suspects intentionally threw one Molotov Cocktail at the second story window of the residence in an attempt to ignite the structure. Several occupants of the home were inside the structure when the incident occurred,” the notice states.

No damage was caused, according to the notice. The Molotov cocktail — made with a Snapple bottle — reportedly “self-extinguished.”

The Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident, the notice states. No fire call was reported.
