MILLINGTON — A Millington man has been charged with sexual solicitation of a minor and second-degree assault after and incident that occurred at a local store on Monday, April 1.

Maryland State Police reported that troopers responded to Dollar General, 189 Sassafras St., at 4:17 p.m. for a report of an assault.

A 14-year-old girl told troopers she was walking to the store when she saw a Hispanic male following her. She went into Dollar General and he followed, police said.

While in the store, the man walked up to the teen and asked her to follow him; when she asked for what, he offered her money in exchange for sex, according to a news release from D/Sgt. Jesse Haas.

The teen said she told the man she was a minor and he stated it was OK and proceeded to try to give her the money, police said. She told police the man continued to follow her until she found and joined a group of friends; then he left.

Video footage from the Dollar General confirmed the teen’s report, Haas wrote.

A witness provided a description of the man’s vehicle with a Maryland registration, police said.

Troopers responded to the registered owner’s address and saw a Hispanic male matching that description of the suspect. Troopers positively identified him as the man from the surveillance video at Dollar General. Police identified the man as Rudy E. Perez Domingo, 23, from the 100 block of Crane Street.

MSP contacted the Kent County State’s Attorney’s Office, which provided guidance on charges. Domingo was arrested and charged with sexual solicitation of a minor and second-degree assault.
