Fight at Royal Farms

Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company sets up a landing zone at the Maryland National Guard Armory for Maryland state Police helicopter Trooper 6 to fly out a patient following a fight at the Royal Farms in Queen Anne Saturday night, April 20.

QUEEN ANNE — Maryland State Police is investigating a fight at the Royal Farms on Md. Route 404 Saturday night, April 20, that sent one man to the hospital.

Tfc. Nathan Philippi said he responded to assist with a medical emergency and then learned of the possible assault.

Video surveillance shows two young adult men arguing in front of the store’s doors; it misses a few seconds, then skips to a frame that shows them fighting by the gas pumps, Philippi said.

One boy had a seizure, and the other left the scene, he said.

Witnesses called for help. Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company and Talbot County Emergency Medical Services responded.

They decided to fly the boy out to a trauma center as a precautionary measure, Philippi said. MSP helicopter Trooper 6 responded. No condition was available at press time because the boy’s name had not been released.

The boy who fled the scene was identified by witnesses as a teen from Greensboro, Phillip said.

The investigation is ongoing.
