BARCLAY — A crash at Dixon Tavern Road and MD Route 313 south of Sudlersville sent five patients to the hospital Tuesday morning, April 23.
According to Maryland State Police, a blue Nissan Sentra from Delaware was westbound on Dixon Tavern Road at MD Route 313 when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign. The Nissan collided with a white Mack straight truck, also from Delaware, traveling north on 313.
The four occupants of the Nissan were airlifted to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious injuries, police said. The truck driver was taken by ambulance to University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown with minor injuries, police said.
Witnesses said the car was destroyed in the crash. Occupants had to be extracted.
No conditions were available at press time as police had not released any names. The investigation is ongoing.
