A sincere congratulations to all those candidates who made it through the first round of election season. As we prepare to dive in to this next cycle, we look forward to embracing the opportunity to practice our democratic rights. Voting, asking questions of candidates and running for office are some of the most important things we can do to further help this cause of democracy.

In Queen Anne’s County, we will see local races for county commissioner, school board and in October for Centreville town council — positions that are both partisan and non-partisan — but nonetheless will have an impact in years to come on our community.
