CHESTERTOWN — The chambers of commerce for Kent and Queen Anne’s counties are holding a preview of the upcoming General Assembly session.
The Maryland legislature meets in Annapolis for 90 days every year. Next year’s general Assembly session begins Wednesday, Jan. 13.
Sponsored by the League of Women Voters chapters in Kent and Queen Anne’s counties, the General Assembly preview is being held virtually from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6. The meeting will be held via the Zoom teleconferencing app.
State Sen. Stephen S. Hershey Jr. and Dels. Jay Jacobs, Kent; Steve Arentz, Queen Anne’s; and Jeff Ghrist, Caroline, all Republicans, comprise the 36th District’s General Assembly delegation.
“During the discussion, our legislators will share what they are looking forward to regarding the upcoming session, what Kent and Queen Anne’s County residents and business owners should be aware of, and answer questions from members,” a news release announcing the event states.
