STEVENSVILLE — This month the Kent Island Federation of Arts hosted their annual “Children’s Showcase” exhibit of children’s artwork from around the county. The showcase was started back in 1989, and has been held almost every year since. This year’s exhibit included not only works of art from all of the public schools, but also, Lighthouse Christian Academy, Gunston School and Wye River Upper School.
A reception was held for all the students who entered works, when the exhibit opened, Saturday, March 4.
For the 15th consecutive year, the Kent Island Elks, Lodge 2576, sponsored the Children’s Showcase, as the Elks continue to support positive children’s activities and events in their local community.
There are more than 100 pieces of art entered in this year’s show, which is open, free for viewing by the public through the end of March.
