ROMANCOKE — Kent Island Fishermen Inc. and Kent Island Estates Community Association will present the 14th annual Youth Fishing Derby Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Romancoke Pier, Route 8 South, Stevensville.

Youth will compete in boy and girl age groups: 3 to 5, 6 to 10 and 11 to 16. All participants must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.

Bring your own rods. Some loaner rods will be available. Wristbands are required for fishing and lunch.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., with fishing from 9 to 11 a.m. Prizes and refreshments will follow at Kent Island American Legion Post 278. Prizes will be given for largest fish, small fish, most unique fish and most fish caught in each age group. Winners must be present to claim prize limit of one trophy per winner.

The Youth Fishing Derby is being held in memory of Jon Bupp.
