STEVENSVILLE — Queen Anne’s County Library’s Summer at Your Library Kickoff will be held at the Kent Island Branch, 200 Library Circle, Stevensville, on Saturday, June 15, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the meeting room and side lawn. Participants are encouraged to drop in to celebrate the “Universe of Stories” program with a variety of activities: sidewalk chalk, games, rock painting, space and art activities and a bouncy house. Children may enjoy creating a squishy-painted sun, a paper-roll rocket ship or building a Lego creation.
While attending, all members of the family are encouraged to sign up for the summer program. The library continues to give away Universe of Stories T-shirts for children birth through age 10, earbuds for teens, and entries for a telescope for adults upon registration. Both children and teens can return their registration packets/calendar in August at either branch, in exchange for a new, free book to keep.
Children, teens and adults who have previously registered for the Summer Reading program will also be able to enter to win prizes at the front desk when they visit the library.
Information about events for all ages is available online at calendar.qaclibrary.org. All library programs are free of charge.
This summer’s events are sponsored by the Friends of Queen Anne’s County Library. Additional support comes from the Maryland State Library Agency, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Maryland Science Center.
