KENT NARROWS — Storms moving in from the west on Tuesday, July 2, put a damper on the annual fireworks display at Kent Narrows. County officials were closely observing weather conditions and at one point sent all visitors back to their vehicles or indoors for cover, forcing vendors to shut down or leave. A short break in the storm system coming across the Bay allowed for the fireworks to be set off just after 9 p.m., but many would-be watchers disbanded ahead of the rain.

Ferry Point Park, including the walking bridge, was closed at sunrise July 1 until sunrise July 4, for the Queen Anne’s County Independence Day Event July 2.

Pop-up thunder storms continued throughout the week, including a tornado warning on Saturday, July 6.
