Pasadena Sportfishing Group to meet March 9

SEVERNA PARK — John Veil, local angler and fishing book author, will be the guest speaker at the March 9 meeting of the Pasadena Sportfishing Group at Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company, 161 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park.

Fishing tackle raffle tickets and a 50/50 drawing will be held after the discussion by Veil on “The Fishing Comfort — How and Where Do You Most Enjoy Fishing.” The talk will last about 45 minutes, during which questions and comments will be received from the members.

Snag-a-Bag Harvest for the Hungry Campaign will take place at this meeting. Bring non-perishable food: soup, cereals, juices, spaghetti, pancake mix, canned meals and vegetables, etc. Money donations will be accepted. Make checks payable to: Anne Arundel County Food Bank. A drawing for an expensive custom made perch rod (donated by David Gaestel of Crazy Horse) and reel (donated by Tochterman’s Tackle) will be awarded to a lucky donor. Please give generously.

Food and beverages are available. Children will receive free ice cream. Doors open at 6 p.m. Regular meeting begins at 7:30. Meetings are free and open to the public. Door prizes. Bring a friend or your first mate.
