MEET THE DIRECTOR

All Library patrons are invited to come to the Library at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19 to have a chat with the director, Janet Salazar. We will talk about the Library and just what’s on the horizon. Please share your thoughts and suggestions. Light refreshments will be served.

UKULELE FOR

BEGINNERS

Our “On Finger” Ukulele for Beginners class has started on Aug. 12 and will run every Monday, from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., for six weeks. There will b no class on Sept. 2. Ukuleles are provided.

LOBBY DISPLAY

Have you stopped to look over the colorful lobby display at the front entrance that was put together by the QAC Legacy Foundation and involves Wye River Upper School, which meets at the Armory on Commerce Street.

ADULT CRAFT

Registration will be required for the upcoming Adult Craft Fish Mosaic program with Wye River Designs on Oct. 3 at 5 p.m.

ADULT TRIVIA NIGHT

Registration is also required for Adult Trivia Night for those 21 and older on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. The topic is Star Wars vs. Star Trek, and there will be prizes for the winning team.

LOST HISTORY

Join local history enthusiasts and community leaders at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 20 for a presentation detailing the previously unknown history of Frederick Douglass visiting and speaking to more than 500 people in Centreville. Learn more about the lost local history from internationally known Douglassonian John Muller. There will be a question and answer time following. Registration is required for this program.
