Learn to play the ukulele

CENTREVILLE — The Centreville branch of the Queen Anne's County Library system will begin a "One Finger Ukulele for Beginners" class on Monday, Aug. 12, at 9:30 a.m. and run every Monday for six weeks. There will be no class on Sept. 2, Labor Day. The classes run until 10:15 a.m. each session.

Be reminded that registration is required and the ukuleles will be provided.

By using "Celtic" tuning we cut the uke learning curve down from days to minutes. This tuning is similar to the "slack-key" Hawaiian guitar-style and a speedy shortcut for anyone who wants to strum songs around the living room or campfire.

It is so easy and fun that our students are now teaching their children and grandchildren using the method.
