GRASONVILLE — The monthly ham, beef and oyster luncheon is back at the Grasonville VFW Post 7464 beginning Saturday, Nov. 16. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and lunch runs until 2 p.m.
The popular luncheon has been sponsored by VFW Post 7464 for more than 20 years. The meal includes your choice of pit ham or pit beef, cooked to perfection, sliced thin and stacked high on several choices of breads or a fresh Kaiser roll, with all the trimmings, including cole slaw or macaroni salad, barbecue baked beans, potato chips and dill pickles.
Or you can choose to have one serving of oysters prepared in numerous ways — hand-breaded fried oysters, which can also be turned into a fried oyster sandwich upon request, oyster stew/soups or freshly shucked raw oysters on the half shell.
The cost remains $9 per meal. There has been no price increase for many years. Beverages are extra.Purchase boardwalk fries for an additional charge.
The scheduled dates for the luncheons at the VFW are: Nov. 16, Dec. 14, Jan. 18, Feb. 15 and March 14, all Saturdays. Call ahead on those dates if weather is threatening with snow or ice, 410-827-8194.
