CENTREVILLE — Learn boating skills in the classroom with a skilled instructor and earn your valid certificate of boating safety from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. The topics that will be covered include types of vessels, state regulations, what to do in an emergency, navigational aids, marine weather, paddle-craft responsibility, personal watercraft safety, and much more.

This course meets the Maryland Boating Safety Education Act requirement needed for persons born on or after July 1, 1972, to operate a motorized vessel on Maryland waters.

The cost is $30, and the class is held from 6 to 9 p.m. May 14 to May 16 at Parks and Recreation Headquarters, 1945 4-H Park Road, Centreville. Program No. 190013.
