STEVENSVILLE — “The Search for William Claiborne’s Forts: Reconstructing the 17th century Landscape of Kent Island” will be the topic of a presentation on March 21 by Dr. Matthew McKnight, Chief Archeologist for the State of Maryland. The event sponsored by the Kent Island Heritage Society will be held at the Historic Christ Church in Stevensville at 7 p.m. and is open to the public. McKnight made a detailed presentation to the Claiborne Society which visited Kent Island in 2022, and heritage society members at that event invited him to make the presentation to our community. He has researched and written about Kent Island sites and history.
