Local artist Lorraine Sincavage holds her “Big Lip Gourd” entry in Kent Island Federation of the Arts first show of 2023, titled “All Creatures Inspiring and Funny”. Sincavage specializes in turning gourds into artistic creations of all kinds.
Artist Lisa Scarbath is pictured with her “Jumbo Jimmy” steampunk mosaic. Scarbath created Maryland’s favorite delicacy, reusing hardware from various clocks to celebrate the beauty of the blue crab.
Local artist Judy Tucker uses oyster shells with pearls to create a symbolic face that appears to be smiling. She titled her piece “The World is Your Oyster”.

The Kent Island Federation of Arts recognizes winners and contributors to their current show “All Creatures Inspiring and Funny”. Opened Jan. 12 the show runs through Feb. 26. The open judged show celebrates the “beneficial and entertaining nature of all living organisms that provide a world of textures, colors and shapes.” Stop by KIFA Thursdays through Sundays 1 to 4 p.m., 405 Main Street, Stevensville.
