GRASONVILLE — When Brent Paquin, president and chief designer at Paquin Design/Build, imagined one-stop shopping, he knew it involved an interior design showroom and on Thursday, April 11, that became a reality.
The 2,200 square-foot Paquin Interiors showroom, with its six employees, includes everything a homeowner would need to remodel their space down to the last light fixture. As part of the process, Paquin also offers a deign consultation with clients to flush out an overall aesthetic.
“We found our clients having to go to multiple places for things like lighting and tile and other (design items),” said Paquin. “That takes up a great deal of time so we wanted to take all those items and put them in one place with designers on staff to guide them through the process and help them select the necessary items.”
Regardless if it is a brand new construction or a renovation, Paquin said, Paquin Interiors can help.
The showroom considers itself a “full-service home interior design and selections showroom centrally located in Grasonville, MD. Using innovative technology, our skilled design team is here to assist you with plans for your kitchen, bathroom, flooring and lighting solutions” according to the new businesses website.
The process starts with asking for the client’s vision and narrowing down the style for the overall design. Clients now even use social media as a source of inspiration via Pinterest boards.
“Often in the case of a renovation, it’s hard to envision the changes that can be made to a home. Between the two companies, we have everything from the architecture to the interior design. We can get our clients in from of trending products and get them the best pricing,” said Paquin.
On hand for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony were County Commissioner Phil Dumenil, Del. Steve Arentz, R-36-Queen Anne’s, Mike Arntz, community liaison for Rep. Andy Harris, R-MD-1st, and Linda Friday, president of the Queen Anne’s County Chamber of Commerce.
“It’s exciting and profitable to have businesses like this in the county,” said Friday. “I’ve known them since they first got started 10 years ago and we’re very proud to have as part of this community. It’s gratifying to see the success of business and watching it grow.”
Success stories like Paquin Interiors can a sign of a robust economy for the county and a signal to other entrepreneurs to place their roots in Queen Anne’s County. For that reason, Friday commended the development of a sustainable workforce that lucrative in its own right.
