CENTREVILLE — Queen Anne’s County has hired a weed control coordinator, Douglas George, to assist in the management and control of noxious and invasive weeds.

As a service to local residents, the Department of Public Works, in cooperation with the Maryland Department of Agriculture, operates the weed control program to assist farmers, federal, state, and local agencies and other landowners in controlling noxious weeds such as thistle and Johnson grass and certain invasive species like phragmites.

George brings an abundance of experience in the commercial lawn business and a vast knowledge in weed control chemicals and spraying applications.

George can be reached via email at dgeorge@qac.org or by phone at 410-758-0925, ext. 4121.
