CHESTERTOWN — The League of Women Voters of Kent County announces its calendar of candidate forums for the upcoming Nov. 8 General Election.

The Kent County Board of Education Forum will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 18, in person at the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Station, 211 Maple Ave. Chestertown.

The Kent County Commissioners Forum, will be hosted in person at the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Station also from 7 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 20. There will be a Meet and Greet for Candidates for Judge of the Orphan’s Court and Clerk of the Circuit Court at the beginning of the forum.

A forum for U.S. House of Representatives District 1 will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 at the Kent Island High School Main Campus, 900 Love Point Rd. Stevensville.

Each candidate will be given an opportunity to introduce themselves, and will answer questions from the League which they have received in advance. The candidates will then answer questions from the audience, and the forum will conclude with closing statements from each participant.

The forums will be recorded and available on the League of Women Voters of Kent County website, kent-lwvmaryland.nationbuilder.com, and on the League of Women Voters Facebook page. No demonstrations, campaign signs or literature are allowed in the forum venue, including indications of support for a candidate on clothing, signage or buttons larger than two inches.
