To the editor: On the heels of that blistering audit for fiscal year 2018 that alleges unethical and criminal practices by elected and appointed town officials, there are, of course (this being Rock Hall), two sides.

One side — including the mayor, town manager and town attorney — argues that "abuse of power," "overriding controls," "using an employee's social security number without the employee's knowledge or permission," "personal iTunes charges made on the Town's credit card," “certain members of the council and key employees of the Town [giving] the appearance of working together for self-interest,” "$1,000 of maintenance of the Town Manager’s personal vehicle," “potential fraud on the part of senior management,” "ambiguity about the rules" and "failure to take disciplinary action for inappropriate behavior" are entirely OK.

The other side doesn’t.
