WORTON — Kent County defeated host Pocomoke, 3-1, in varsity volleyball on Sept. 30 for its second win of the season — already equaling its win total of the 2018 campaign.
“This year’s team is a good team. We are working together and playing well,” said coach Michelle Phillips.
Also during the week, Kent (2-6) was defeated by Colonel Richardson, 3-2, and Queen Anne’s, 3-0. Both matches were at Kent.
“We are limiting unforced errors. but they are still coming sometimes at crucial points of the game,” Phillips said.
She said Kent played well in the loss to highly regarded Queen Anne’s, “but sometimes playing well is not enough. It is important to keep our focus and the eyes on the prize.”
She believes if the Trojans “can limit our mistakes, capitalize on our opponents’ errors and play tough for the entire match, we can improve on our record.”
Kent’s Senior Day is Monday against Easton, the defending Bayside Conference champion.
