CHESTERTOWN — Marquis Lamar Waters, 25, Millington, on Nov. 14, was charged with driving on a suspended license and driving without required license and authorization.

Cpl. Albert Piasecki conducted the traffic stop at 9:53 a.m. in the 100-block of Hadaway Drive.

Police also charged Waters with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute within a school bus/school property; possession of more than 10 grams of marijuana; several firearms violations including having a loaded handgun in a vehicle; and possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime.

CHESTERTOWN — Mark James Johnson Sr., 57, Chestertown, on Nov. 19, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol; driving while under the influence of alcohol per se; driving while impaired by alcohol; negligent driving; failure to return to and remain at the scene of an accident involving attended property; and failure to display his registration card upon demand by a police officer.

The offenses are alleged to have occurred 8:12 p.m. in the 300-block of Devon Drive.

WORTON — Mary Elizabeth Barnes, 60, Worton, on Nov. 29, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol; and driving while impaired by alcohol.

She was released after signing the traffic citations.

Cpl. Philip E. Trinks reported that while he was conducting a roadside interview, he smelled alcohol on Barnes, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Police charged Barnes after she allegedly performed unsatisfactorily on standardized field sobriety tests.

Cpl. Trinks conducted the traffic stop at 12:03 p.m. on state Route 297 at state Route 298.

GALENA — Caroline Louise Gassert, 23, Milton, Del., on Nov. 30, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol; and driving while impaired by alcohol.

She was released after signing the traffic citations.

DFC Michael Piasecki reported that he initially stopped Gassert for speeding; she was allegedly driving 62 mph in a posted 55-mph zone.

DFC Piasecki reported that while conducting a roadside interview, he observed indicators of alcohol impairment. Gassert was charged after she alleged performed unsatisfactorily on standardized field sobriety tests.

DFC Piasecki conducted the traffic stop at 4:14 a.m. on U.S. Route 301.
