Chestertown Police

THEFT. Anthony Lamont Corbin, 53, Chestertown, on May 31, was issued a summons charging him with theft, less than $100. The offense is alleged to have occurred May 25 in the 700-block of Washington Avenue. PFC Howard Eveland investigated.

ASSAULT. Bruce Armont Green Jr., 40, Chestertown, on June 3, was issued a summons charging him with second-degree assault. The offense is alleged to have occurred June 2 in the 100-block of Philosophers Terrace.

RUNAWAY. A 15-year-old Chestertown male, on June 3, was referred to the Department of Juvenile Services on a complaint of being a runaway. PFC Martin Heinefield investigated.

 

Kent County Sheriff

DISTURB. A 14-year-old male from the Worton area, on May 31, was referred to the Department of Juvenile Services on a complaint of disturbing school operations. He was identified as a student at Kent County Middle School.

Sgt. Steven M. Linz, the school resource officer, reported that the student allegedly threw items at another student, verbally abused other students, threatened to harm other students and refused to obey a teacher's directions — "thus causing a disruption to the classroom," according to a sheriff's office news release.

FTA. Amon Jazzmalik Stowers, 21, Grasonville, was issued a body attachment on June 1 for failure to appear in court. Bail initially was set at $500.

DRUGS. A 17-year-old male from the Rock Hall area, on June 3, was referred to the Department of Juvenile Services on a complaint of possession of marijuana. He was identified as a Kent County High School student and the offense is alleged to have occurred on campus.

Suspected marijuana was located inside the student's book bag, according to a sheriff's office news release. Deputy Scott Metzbower, the school resource officer, investigated. 

SEX ABUSE. James Allen Barkley, 69, Galena, on June 5, was issued a district court arrest warrant charging him with third- and fourth-degree sex offense; sex abuse of a minor; and second-degree assault. He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bail.

DRUGS. Quiana Denita Jeff, 36, Chestertown, on June 5, was issued a circuit court arrest warrant charging her with drug-related offenses, including three counts of possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute. She initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bail.

THEFT. Robert James Scott, 31, Harrington, Del., on June 5, was issued a Queen Anne's County District Court summons charging him with theft, $1,500 to $25,000.

DRUGS. Sheldon Clarence Dorsey Jr., 25, Worton, on June 6, was charged with possession of marijuana, more than 10 grams; possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released after posting $3,000 unsecured bond.

ROBBERY. Rashawn Donte Bennett Jr., 17, Chestertown, and Kaitrell Shamar Wright, 18, Worton, on June 8 and June 10, respectively, were issued district court arrest warrants charging them with offenses related to a home invasion June 6 on Colfax Road, near Chestertown. Both initially were held in the Kent County Detention Center without bail.

The charges include robbery, armed robbery, home invasion, first- and second-degree assault, firearms offenses and conspiracy — a total of 26 charges.
