WORTON — With the start of fall practices less than a week away, Kent County High School’s girls soccer program is announcing a fundraiser later this month at the Texas Roadhouse in Middletown, Del., and an alumnae match in October.
On Thursday, Aug. 22, from 5 to 8 p.m., Texas Roadhouse will donate 15% of food purchases to the KCHS girls soccer program to anyone who identifies themself as a supporter of the program.
Money raised from this will help defray the costs of a trip to see the U.S. women’s World Cup championship team play Portugal as part of its Victory Tour in late August at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
What is believed to be the first organized alumnae soccer match for the program is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Trojan Stadium. There is a $10 cost if you are interested in a commemorative T-shirt.
To guarantee a T-shirt, respond by Sept. 25 to Kari Walters at firstname.lastname@example.org.
