WORTON — Kent County High School will hold orientation for fall sports at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 in the auditorium. Orientation is for new and returning athletes and their parents.
Attendance is strongly encouraged.
This is an ideal time to meet the coaches, and to find out about their training requirements, practice schedules and expectations for the season.
Athletic Director Kevin Taylor also will be there.
Kent athletes are reminded that they cannot practice or participate until they have a completed physical on file at school. The first day of practice is Aug. 14.
At its meeting Monday morning, the board of education unanimously approved the following coaches.
Cheerleading: head coach Jessica Arminio; and paid assistant Sally Futty.
Cross country: head coach Henry Sabetti; paid assistant Matt Moore; and volunteer assistants Rich Shaw and Gustavo Aguilar.
Field hockey: head varsity coach Susan Wright-Taylor; head junior varsity coach Gillian Spero; and volunteer assistant Trish McGee.
Football: head coach Dave Boyle; paid assistants Brett King, Justin Jenkins, Jamil Wright and Jeremy Leach; and volunteer assistants Garvin Potts, Kolyn Kirby, Gary Priddy, Brandon Ferguson and Ed Myers.
Golf: head coach Steve Oatley.
Boys soccer: head varsity coach Patrick Jones; and head junior varsity coach Dominic Ramos.
Girls soccer: head coach Rachael Gugasian; paid assistant Ed Stack; and volunteer assistant Quin Bowman.
Unified tennis: head coach Christa Collison.
Volleyball: head varsity coach Michelle Phillips; and head junior varsity coach Sobaye Scott.
