CHESTERTOWN — The investigation into complaints of someone rummaging through vehicles last week led to the arrest of two people whom police have said are homeless. Dennis Eugene Black, 39, and Christina Nicole Piver, 34, on Sept. 5 were issued summonses for attempted rogue and vagabond.

They are accused of rummaging through a vehicle in the 200-block of South Cross Street around 6:45 a.m. Sept. 5.

The investigation is ongoing for complaints in the 300-block of Cannon Street, 100-block of North Water Street and two instances in the 200-block of Richard Drive — all before noon on Sept. 5, according to news releases from the Chestertown Police Department. Among items reported taken were cash and a gym bag and its contents.
