CRUMPTON — Christopher B. Markow, 34, Church Hill, on June 22, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He initially was held in the Queen Anne's County Detention Center without bail.

Markow was identified as the driver of a vehicle that was parked in the 1900-block of Dudley Corners Road with the vehicle in gear; he was asleep, according to police.

Deputy James Matthews reported that it was determined that Markow was driving on a suspended license, and was wanted on one district court and two circuit court warrants through Kent County and one district court warrant through the Maryland State Police, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Police located suspected drugs and several hypodermic needles during a search of Markow's vehicle, according to the news release.

CHESTERTOWN — DFC Michael Piasecki responded to Ricauds Branch Road on June 22 at about 4:30 a.m. where he found that an International trash truck had traveled off the road and struck a tree. The operator, identified as a 62-year-old male, was transported to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown for injuries that were described as non-life-threatening, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Police reported that the truck could not be driven from the scene.

CHESTERTOWN — Jon Frederic Clark, 73, Elkins Park, Pa., on June 24, was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol; and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

He was released on personal recognizance.

Deputy Stacey Shockley conducted the traffic stop at 9:19 p.m. on state Route 20 in the area of Ricauds Branch Road.

MILLINGTON — Ashley Marie Shane, 36, Newark, Del., and Jacob Dallas Reece, 44, Clayton, Del., on June 24, were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shane also was charged with driving at speed exceeding limit, 78 mph in a 55-mph zone; driving without required license and authorization; and driving on a revoked out-of-state license. 

Shane was released on $15,000 unsecured bond.

Reece was released on $10,000 unsecured bond.

Cpl. Scott Lockerman conducted the traffic stop at 9:58 p.m. on U.S. Route 301 in the area of Millington Road.

A K-9 scanned the vehicle and gave a positive alert to the odor of suspected drugs, according to a sheriff's office news release.

MILLINGTON — Rhonda Michelle Wilson, 53, Chestertown, on June 25, was charged with exceeding posted maximum speed, 39 mph in a 25-mph zone; driving on suspended registration; driving while impaired by alcohol; and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

She was released on personal recognizance.

Sgt. J. Nicholas Watson conducted the traffic stop at 3:52 a.m. on Cypress Street in the area of Comegys Street.
