ROCK HALL — Chase Leighton Jones, 38, Rock Hall, on Nov. 1, was charged with drug-related offenses including possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not marijuana.

He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bail.

Police reported that Jones was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for alleged traffic offenses. The driver was not identified.

Jones was wanted on outstanding bench warrants in Kent and Queen Anne's counties for failure to appear in court and contempt of court, according to a news release.

He was searched subsequent to his arrest on the warrants and was in possession of gel capsules of suspected heroin, according to the news release.

WORTON — DFC Michael Piasecki, on Oct. 21, responded to Montabello Lake Road for a reported crash at 1:29 p.m. An 80-year-old man who was operating a motorcycle failed to negotiate a turn and drove off the roadway, according to a sheriff's office news release. The motorcycle traveled off an embankment and into a ravine, police reported.

The man, who was not named, was airlifted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police.

ROCK HALL — Daniel Colby Dowling, 24, Rock Hall, on Oct. 23, was charged with driving without required license and authorization; driving on suspended license and privilege; failure to display license to uniformed police on demand; and a seat belt violation.

A K-9 scanned the vehicle and alerted to the odor of suspected drugs, according to a sheriff's office news release. Deputies searched the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia and a suspected controlled dangerous substance that is not marijuana.

DFC Collin Shockley conducted the traffic stop at 3:43 p.m. on Judefind Avenue near Sharp Street.

Dowling was wanted on outstanding circuit court arrest warrants for second-degree assault and violation of probation, and a district court bench warrant for failure to appear in court.

He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bail.

FAIRLEE — The driver and her passenger were transported to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown for treatment of injuries suffered in a single-vehicle crash Oct. 30.

The injuries were described as minor, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Police identified the driver as a 37-year-old woman.

According to the news release, the crash was at about 3:35 p.m. on Fish Hatchery Road in the area of state Route 298. 

The vehicle traveled off the road and sustained damage that disabled it, according to the news release.

Deputy Kasey Lindecamp responded to the crash scene.
