To the editor: I was thrilled last week to read that Mr. Ramsey and I have finally come to an agreement on something. His closing words, “It seems there are forces that want compromise to fail," could not be more true.

Blurring fact and opinion is the very basis of propaganda, and, in my opinion, it is the propaganda stoked by partisanship and identity politics, further fueled by respective media mouthpieces that make up a large part of these forces. It applies to all sides of the political spectrum.
