CHESTERTOWN — Mark Allen Rustand of Chestertown, Md. died on Jan. 8, 2021 in Cambridge, Md.. He was 66.

He was born on January 1, 1955 in Duluth, Minn., the son of the late Ellis Duane and Phyllis Louise Wehmeyer Rustand. His stepmother, Grace Bishop Rustand of Easton Md., recently predeceased Mark. Both died of COVID complications.

Mark worked at Millard Lumber Company in Bellevue, Neb. following his high school and college graduation. He moved to Pennsylvania in 1987 to be closer to family where he was a carpenter and managed a historic property in Wayne, Pa.

Mark enjoyed fishing, woodworking, church activities, traveling and camping. He was a member of the Church of the Savior in Wayne, Pa. and the Chestertown Baptist Church. Mark was also involved with the Boy Scouts and attained the rank of Eagle Scout.

His shy smile and quiet manner belied his thoughtful, kind, generous and silly personality.

He is survived by his sisters Linda Rustand Dutton of Chestertown, Md. and Lauri Marie Rustand of Oakton, Va.. He is also survived by several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A local memorial service will be held when it is safe to do so. Interment will be held at a later date in the Wehmeyer family plot at the Seward Cemetery in Nebraska.
