WORTON — David Allen Parker, born the third child of Harold Tallman Parker and Charlotte Long Parker on Election Day, Nov. 8, 1935 in Mount Holly, N.J., passed peacefully on Jan. 8, 2021, surrounded by the love of his wife, family and friends who were present either by phone or gathered tightly around him at his home in Worton, Md.
An Army veteran, he was a graduate of Bucknell University and as a graduate of Rutgers University Law School, he became one of the most respected attorneys in New Jersey based on his expertise and his high ethical standards. After retirement, he donated his legal expertise to any number of friends who were been able to turn to him for counsel and direction. His heart was great and his generosity was without limit. Mourning his loss especially are bartenders and wait staff everywhere who always earned from him his respect and some of the largest tips of their shift.
After he retired in 2000, he went on to purchase the Motts Creek Inn in Galloway, N.J. His joy in the bar was in the people he met and the friendships he forged. It appealed to everything he was, his love of music, his love of a good party, his love of people and his abiding love for what remains of the hunting and fishing culture and the old ways of the Jersey Shore where he spent so much of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Barbara Parker, by his son David B. Parker and his wife Joann, by Brad Parker and Gregg and Marcy Parker. Also by his brother Barry Parker and his wife Ann and his sister Ann Lampman. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: John, David, Mathew, Jeffrey, Drew, Dylan, Devin, Brooke and Brenden.
A memorial service and celebration of his life are planned for when the health and well-being of his friends can be reasonably assured.
