GALENA — Ronald Lewis Duplessis Jr., 30, Wilmington, Del., on Oct. 25, was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol; driving while under the influence of alcohol; and driving while under the influence of alcohol per se.
He also was charged with failure to remain at the scene of an unattended property damage accident; driving without required license and authorization; driving on suspended license and privilege; negligent driving; reckless driving; failure to control speed to avoid a collision; and failure to obey properly placed traffic control device instructions.
According to a sheriff's office news release, Duplessis was traveling northbound on Golts Caldwell Road at 9:14 a.m. when his vehicle went off the road and struck a mailbox in the 14000-block. The vehicle continued off the roadway and came to rest about 20 feet off the road, according to a sheriff's office news release.
DFC Parker L. Hudson reported that when he arrived on the scene, Duplessis was not there. Duplessis subsequently returned to the scene, according to the news release.
CHESTERTOWN — Kerri Amanda Cochran, 33, Chestertown, on Oct. 30, was charged with driving while impaired by a controlled dangerous substance; driving while so far impaired that she cannot drive safely; and causing a standing vehicle to obstruct free vehicle passage of the roadway.
Cochran was released after signing the traffic citations.
DFC Michael V. Piasecki was dispatched at 12:12 p.m. to Bay Shore Road at Georgetown Road for a report of a vehicle parked in the roadway with an unresponsive driver, according to a sheriff's office news release. Cochran subsequently was identified as the driver.
During a roadside interview with DFC Piasecki, Cochran allegedly showed signs of impairment, according to the news release.
ROCK HALL — Jessica Lynn Payne, 26, Rock Hall, sustained injuries in a single-vehicle crash Nov. 6 on Fairlee Road at Hanesville Road, according to a sheriff's office news release. There was no report of her medical condition.
She was operating a Toyota Tacoma that traveled off the road and struck a ditch. The truck had heavy front end damage and was towed from the scene, according to the news release
The crash was at 12:06 a.m.
Payne was charged with driving on revoked license and privilege; driving, attempting to drive without required license and authorization; and failure to obey designated lane directions.
