The courthouse calendar will carry guilty, not guilty, NP and stet verdicts.

NP (nolle prosequi): A formal entry upon the record by the prosecuting officer in a criminal case by which he declares that he “will no further prosecute” the case.

Stet: Stay of a decision that may not be entered over the defendant’s objection and may be reinstated within the year for trial at the request of either party. After one year’s time, it may be rescheduled only upon good cause shown.

The only district court motor vehicle cases that are published here are those related to impaired driving.

The defendant is sentenced to 10 months in the Kent County Detention Center. The following charges are dismissed: distribute, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl/ heroin; possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not marijuana; possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute in a school, school bus zone; and possession of drug paraphernalia (two counts).

Alicia Nicole Golden, 22, Chestertown. The following charges are dismissed: second-degree assault; and disorderly conduct.

Motor vehicle case

David Paul Bobyock, 59, Wynnewood, Pa. Driving while impaired by alcohol. Plea guilty. Verdict guilty. The defendant is sentenced to 30 days in the Kent County Detention Center, suspended. He is placed on six months of unsupervised probation. The following charges are dismissed: driving while under the influence of alcohol; and exceeding maximum speed, 86 mph in a posted 55-mph zone.

Zachary David Thompson, 33, Rock Hall. Driving while impaired by alcohol. Plea guilty. Verdict guilty. The defendant is placed on one year of supervised probation. The following charges are dismissed: driving in excess of reasonable and prudent speed; driving while under the influence of alcohol; exceeding posted maximum speed, 85 mph in a 50-mph zone; reckless driving; negligent driving; and driving while so far impaired by alcohol that he cannot drive safely.

Theft, $100 to less than $1,500. Plea not guilty. Verdict guilty. The defendant is sentenced to 90 days in the Kent County Detention Center; the sentence is to be served concurrently with the sentence for burglary. Malicious destruction of property, having a value less than $1,000. Plea guilty. Verdict guilty. The defendant is sentenced to 60 days in the Kent County Detention Center; the sentence is to be served concurrently with the sentence for burglary. Trespass, private property. Plea not guilty. Verdict guilty. Merged for sentencing.
