U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., toured two Kent County sites Monday afternoon. Van Hollen started at Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge, where he met with staff from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He learned about maintenance needs at the refuge. He also heard from the volunteer Friends of Eastern Neck about the effects of FWS staff reductions at the refuge. From there, Van Hollen traveled to the renovated Port of Chestertown Marina. He met with town officials including Mayor Chris Cerino to learn more about the federally funded work at the marina.
