Tika Sisco is one of the people interviewed for “People Worth Knowing,” a poster series curated by Lani Seikaly. In a quote featured beneath her photo for her poster, Sisco talks bout learning to cope with “the hand that you’re dealt.” She said, “You have to play the hand that you are dealt, that’s all you can do.”
Milford Murray is featured in the “People Worth Knowing” series. Murray, who was interviewed by Lani Seikaly, spoke about discrimination he experienced in Chestertown, saying “none of the restaurants in town would serve us. In Stam’s (which closed in 2016 and has since reopened as a luncheonette under different ownership) you could get ice cream but you couldn’t sit down and eat it.”

Chestertown Mayor Chris Cerino reported Tuesday, Feb. 16 that the town council was found to have violated the Maryland Open Meetings Act in November when it continued to hold a meeting despite no livestream being available to the public.
